Maybe lose the control they think they had in the meeting. <br><br>Often a smile helps. <br><br>Re clarification of their argument or proposition. When negotiating never be in a hurry. Often the deal is very valuable, maybe a life changing event.<br><br>Take your time. Let the other side feel the pressure.After all neither side would be seeking a deal if it wasn\u2019t valuable to each party.<br><br>The use of silence &#8211; can take the steam out of the situation.<br><br>Thirty seconds is not a long time but appears an age.
